When Will We Listen to God?

Holy, Holy, Holy Is The Lord God almighty! The whole earth is filled with your glory! Isaiah 6:3 (also a beautifully written song!)

I was reading through Isaiah 6 tonight and God's word is full of His truth and promises!

Reading through my study bible the study notes for Isaiah 6 had stated: When we recognize how great our God is, how sinful we are, and the extent of God's forgiveness, we receive power to do His work.

We will never measure up to Gods standards of holiness! I know we have known this but wow- we actually will never measure up! When we see The Lord as Isaiah did-we will then realize our sinfulness! This is because God is holy!!

Growing up I always had wondered during worship why we kept repeating the words holy, holy, holy in multiple songs. Well, when I finally realized what the word meant-I was amazed! We should sing Holy over and over continuously to proclaim the greatness of our God!

The definition of Holy: Morally perfect, pure & set apart from ALL sin.

#amazed

Now that is a definition! To become holy like Christ is to be set apart and pure! We are cleansed through Christ of all of our iniquities! May we not hold onto the sins we have committed! May we CONFESS!

May we DISCOVER GOD'S HOLINESS!!
We will then be enabled to worship and serve him wholeheartedly!!

Now back to more of what the scriptures say in Isaiah 6. He touched my lips with it and said "see, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven." Isaiah 6:7

Man! We are forgiven! We are cleansed! Yet, it may be a painful process- we are being refined for the glory of God! He wants to use you and me! We are His children! He is calling us!

Let's accept Gods call on our lives and allow Him to speak to us! Be cleansed and confess-submit to Gods control over your life! Be purified! Only God can work in you to make you pure and holy! Let him work!!

I believe that the closer we come to God the more weakness, insecurity, and inadequacy we see in ourselves. Instead, we need to come to Jesus with everything and he will use us!

Fully commit to God and say "Here I am Lord, Send me!" Be willing to show the world Gods LOVE! Whatever it takes!!

Now back to the beginning of Isaiah chapter 6. Wow, the greatness of our God! Verse 1 states "...the train of his robe filled he temple." The Glory of God!!! Verse 2 "...mighty seraphim (angels) were with him, having 6 wings...2 covered the faces, 2 covered their feet, and 2 they flew with" SIX WINGS!! Now that image proclaims the holiness of who God is! The Glory of God!!

Now once Isaiah had realized he was a sinful man-all he wanted to do was worship and serve The Lord! Okay, but in verse 8 The Lord is asking for a messenger to the people of Israel! The Lord also said to Isaiah later in the chapter that the people have hardened their hearts, plugged their ears, shut their eyes and will not listen to truth of Gods word!

If I were Isaiah I would be discouraged. I ask myself-then what's the point if no one will listen to the message? Well that's where we need to recognize the greatness of our God! In verse 13 it states that a remnant will be planted. Few people will listen but, those are the people who will be apart of the Holy seed being planted! Only a few will remain in the land and help rebuild for the Glory of God!

God had a purpose for Isaiah and his purpose led to planting a remnant (a holy seed). This is where it is important to be obedient to what God is calling us to do.

Be apart of the REMNANT! Be a faithful follower! Be apart of Gods plan!!

Every little thing you do!! Do if for the Glory of God!! A good song to look up referring to this and proclaiming the Grace of God is - "Do Everything" by Steven Curtis Chapman

Obey God before time runs out...

Listen.
Obey.
Do.
