There's more behind The movie of "The Polar Express"...

What is Christmas?!- more importantly what does it mean to believe?!

There's a journey in life we all take and there's a destination to be reached!

That destination...is life with our Heavenly Father!! Now, that's something exciting!

The movie, The Polar Express starts out not believing with many doubts. Our doubts take us on a journey of a life to be lived!

First- we need to get on the train! "ALL ABOARD!" Now, in the movie the boy did not want to get on right away- it takes some courage and with that feeling of searching and wanting something more- he jumped on just in time! We can get on the salvation train too!-

John 3:11 "I assure you, we tell you what we know and have seen, and yet you won't believe our testimony".

Second- Endure the journey of life! There are experiences that happen for a reason and the people that come along with you on the journey is ultimately for the kingdom of God!

1 Peter 1:6-7 " So be truly glad. There is wonderful Joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold- though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world".

There are many types of life experiences that help us realize who God is as our Savior, Prince of Peace, Almighty God, and many more names!

The journey of life on the train takes us to many places! We visit places where we need to grow and understand the truth of our Lord! We battle good and evil everyday- it's all about the choices we make! There are battles where our health is at stake, whether it is ourselves or a loved one. There are battles where family is a stake, where we wonder how a marriage or family is going to hold together. There are battles where friendships are at stake, and we ask "God, Where are you?" There are battles where we are tempted to be selfish and think only of ourselves. Battles where we think- "What is life? Is there really a purpose?"

Every single one of our earthly battles are overcome! That is the Good News! God is here and he cares about you! He loves you, he forgives you, he knows you, he just wants to be your friend! He loves you so much that he sacrificed his life so that we could have life! Not only that- He AROSE!

John 16:33 " I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world".

I think about the song "My Savior Lives" by Chris Tomlin at one point it says-
"Living, He loved me.
Dying, He saved me.
Buried, He carried my sins far away.
Rising, He justified- freely, forever-
ONE DAY HE'S COMING- OH, GLORIOUS DAY!"

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord".

Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates his own love for us, while we were still sinners Christ died for us".

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave is one and only son, that whoever believes in him, shall not perish but have everlasting life".

Now, that's the Gospel message if that does not get your heart pumping or give you a hope- then you better be ready to be amazed as to who the Almighty God is!

2 Timothy 3:16-17 " All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach on what is true and to make is realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to so every good work"

Our life experiences happen for a reason. The way we grow up, who is a part of our childhood, the friends we make, the choices we make, the person we marry, the job we have, the people we work with, it all happens for a reason, whether it is good or bad!

God is still by our side through it all! We just need to trust in Him and Believe in the truth! He will lead us and guide us every step of the way on the journey! We just need to accept his gift of salvation!

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall make your path straight.

Third- there are different types of people in life! Every person is a part of the body of Christ! We all have a specific purpose to be fulfilled for the kingdom of God!

1-The person who thinks they have it all planned out and have a sense of control. This personality is like the know-it-all-boy in the movie. We sometimes feel we have it all figured out- when God is still teaching us a life lesson about all that is yet to come!
John 3:12 "But if you don't believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things?"

2-The person who does not have enough confidence in their own faith.  This personality is the girl in the movie. It's the person who has the faith to believe but, has not made it their own! Wow, when this person makes it their own, there is so much joy in the moment and a purpose to what God has in store with that kind of faith!

3-The person who doubts! This is the main character boy in the movie. It sometimes takes time to truly believe in the one who saves- yes this person wants to believe but is looking for the truth to prove itself! The truth is there, and it will set you free!
Isaiah 55:6 "Seek The Lord while you can find him, call on him now while he is near". It takes some life experiences to get to the point to trust in The Lord wholeheartedly!

4-The person who chooses not to believe! This is the last boy who got on the train in the movie. He almost did not get on the train but, the emergency stop was pulled for him to get on! There are some people that we need to pull the emergency stop for to get them on the "Salvation Train!" They may not want to but they know that it is the truth!

Fifth- Let the angel armies do the work! There are times where our battles are bigger than human understanding! There are angels around us- they are in the saving business- working for the one who saved us all!  The movie shows this by the man on top of the train- he helped out in the times of dire need- where there was more need than human strength! When we call out to God, he is there ready to redeem us!

I think of the song "Whom Shall I Fear" by Chris Tomlin
The chorus: "I know who goes before me, I know who stands behind, the God of angel armies is always by my side. The one who reigns forever, he is a friend of mine, the God of angel armies is always by my side"

God is here with us! We can choose to believe or we can choose to doubt and wonder what this life is about!
Philippians 1:25 "Grow and experience the Joy of your faith". There is so much joy in believing in the one who saved us!

Sixth-We all need to be saved!! The last boy on the train represents this- toward the end of the movie he did not want to join the rest of the group still-the girl had built the confidence in her faith and told the main boy character to come with her to get him.

We have the choice to believe in the truth or not. Yet, this is where the body of believers step in. We are called to save the lost! We need to listen, be obedient, and discern what God is laying on our hearts to seek and save the lost!

Luke 19:10 "For the son of man came to seek and to save the lost".

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 "...We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation- a salvation that came through the spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth. He called you to salvation when we told you the good news; now you can share the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ".

Seventh-In our lives we may go on different journeys, but we are still on the same train- the train where God is the engineer and Jesus is the conductor! There are different tracks that lead to the same destination- sometimes we may get derailed but, God is still faithful! Jesus is with us along the journey and allowing the Holy Spirit to challenge and move us through the life experiences we have!

The boy, girl, and main boy in the movie all went on a new adventure together- this was an experience that was going to change everything!

We must continue in life on our journey with faith and never give up! There is a destination to be reached and we need to persevere with the great strength and courage that The Lord gives us!

Hebrews 10:35-36 "So do not throw away this confident trust in The Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God's will. Then you will receive all that he has promised".

1-May we have the confidence to speak boldly about the truth just as the girl was sure about the way to the destination!
Hebrews 11:1 "Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen: it gives us assurance about things we cannot see".

2-May we feel the strong conviction of the Holy Spirit tugging on our hearts to believe! Just like the last boy in the train who did not want to believe but, through the confidence of the girl, he was led to the destination!
Romans 10:9 "Bur if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is lord and believe in your heart that God raised you from the dead you will be saved".

3-May we be patient and learn about humility! Just as the know-it-all boy had learned about waiting! We need to wait upon The Lord for his perfect timing in everything!

4-May we believe! Just as the main character boy learned through his journey on the train! We have our life experiences and they each lead us to the destination we are looking for if we just choose to believe!

Eighth-The time is NOW! Our journey of life may seem like we have a lot of time- but, JESUS IS COMING! There is no time to wait! Why waste our time doubting and trying to prove that there is no God to believe in! He is the Truth!
John 14:6 "I am the way,the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me".

It is a joy of a ride with Jesus! Come and welcome!

Ephesians 2:4-5 "But God is so rich in mercy and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead.  (It is only by Gods grace you have been saved!)"

Go ahead and just read all of Ephesians 2 or all of Ephesians!! :)

Ninth- Share! Share! Share!
2 Timothy 1:8-9 "So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don't be ashamed of me, either, even though I am in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the good news. For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time - to show us his grace through Christ Jesus".

Hear the bells! God is calling you! The spirit of Christmas is in you! The spirit of The Lord Jesus Christ is In your heart!

In the movie the main character boy lost the gift given to him- but, he knew in his heart! That's all that matters when we have the faith to believe in our heart that Jesus is Lord-we will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

IT IS AMAZING! Who God is and what he teaches us!

Quote from the movie:
"One thing about trains: It doesn't matter where you are going, what matters is deciding to get on it."

AMEN! Get on the SALVATION TRAIN AND BE READY FOR A FOREVER CHAGED LIFE!

We are Redeemed! All who truly believe! Come to Jesus!

A Day in the Life of Rynae... :)

What a Day! A day where God brings so much Joy- Well, He does that each and every day! Today started out with a walk through Elliot Park -- and those squirrels! So fun- and it was just a BEAUTIFUL fall day!!

I had decided to take a day to explore the great city I live in- Minneapolis, Minnesota! So, I ventured out on my bike to Downtown and started off at Starbucks coffee! I got my free drink today, so of course I get a Venti Hazelnut Macchiato!! It was so warm and tasty- along with that, I enjoyed a chocolate cookie! all of that for $2.19! That's a wonderful deal!!

Throughout the day I ventured from store to store downtown- I had found some wonderful deals at GAP where tops were $5! It had just been a wonderful shopping day for me! I had gotten some cute nail polish for a killer of a deal as well! One thing that was on my radar was some boots! Yup, got a great deal on those at Marshall's! Also, who would say no to chocolate for like $2?! I got me some tasty Godiva Chocolate too!

Well, as my relaxing day went on- I had stopped at target! I have been wanting to bake an Apple Pie during this fall season and WOW! We are already starting to get snow flurries here- so, I better hurry and make some warm, tasty Apple Pie before winter comes!! Ok, another thing about me is I have been wanting to watch "Annie" the movie for quite some time, (like probs 6 months to like a year...) well, I found the movie on DVD for $5! I had to do it along with "Horton Hears a Who" - because that is a wonderful movie about recognizing all the little things in life and that EVERYONE IS VALUABLE!! Another random story about me is my curling iron had broke about a month ago- it had just snapped apart while I was curling my hair--it was my grandmas, so I was due for a new one! :) Now I can enjoy curling my hair again!
I also wanted to stop at Barnes and Noble- I had been looking at the book by Billy Graham "The Reason for My Hope" and being that I have a membership I got 10% off along with the 20% off! I also got a coffee puzzle to work on! Looking forward to finishing it-while living here in my apartment!
While out on my downtown adventure, I have always wanted to stop at the cute little Crepe store on Nicollet! Finally did- got myself a classic crepe for $3 and enjoyed sitting the the cute little nook/hole in the wall! So cute- so delicious, and of course I had to get more coffee!!

Well, with all of the great deals I made downtown- I had to take on the challenge of taking it all back with me on my bike! What a wonderful experience! No falls, and the lights were like green the whole way back!! Thank-you Lord for a safe bike ride back home to my abode!

What a day of adventure already, and Wow, God had a smile on my face all day! I was so thankful for an enjoyed/relaxed day and all of the random interactions I had downtown! (I think people may have thought I was a bit weird as I smiled walking down the isles and said hello to people who passed by, and the fact that I may have talked/laughed to myself throughout the day!!)

As I mentioned before, I wanted to make my apple pie, so I did- crust and all, and thought who will I share this pie with or give it to?! Well, my brother called me and asked what I was doing for the night, well I was making dinner (A potato and Fresh Asparagus I got at the farmers market downtown today!) and making my Apple Pie! He thought that was fun and wanted me to come to his Halloween Party- so, I quick ate my supper, thought up a quick costume and brought my pie over to bake in his awesome 70's style oven! So legit! Well, my costume kinda ended up looking like a 70's outfit as well - so I called myself the 70's Mom who bakes in the kitchen! It was a wonderful night to see my brother and Heidi and all of their friends!

All Glory and Thanks to God for just one day that he has given me! Yup, I just shared a day of my life and of course there are many memories from other days I have had and there will be many more memories made in future days, whether on earth or in heaven with the Almighty God! Thank-you Lord for this day, for it is the day you have made! I have rejoiced and have been GLAD in it!

Lord, I pray for life circumstances right now, may your presence overwhelm all of us- you are here and we trust you- for you are the almighty God and you love and care about each and everyone of us! Thank-you! May we live with your JOY inside of us- for you are the one who helps and guides us through any situation- good or bad! We come into your presence with faith, we trust you and long to be like you, to shine your light! Lord, may your light shine and RADIATE through us!

"We can REJOICE too, when we run in to problems and trials, for we know they help us develop endurance" Romans 5:3

God is here with us, Be Glad and FULL of the Joy of the Lord each and everyday!!

This is a verse about living for Christ and turning from our sins- also a quote from Billy Graham!

As I always say-----"Just Living Life"

Unity in Christ Only

Rebuilding a trusting relationship is done through the forgiveness and reconciliation of Christ. Christ can break the barriers of any issue- (sin, social status, race, personality). Reestablishing the relationship allows Christ to transform any hopeless relationship into a LOVING FRIENDSHIP! May we use the freedom we have in Christ to live for Him and serve Him! "Put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ" Philemon 1:7

When Will We Listen to God?

Holy, Holy, Holy Is The Lord God almighty! The whole earth is filled with your glory! Isaiah 6:3 (also a beautifully written song!)

I was reading through Isaiah 6 tonight and God's word is full of His truth and promises!

Reading through my study bible the study notes for Isaiah 6 had stated: When we recognize how great our God is, how sinful we are, and the extent of God's forgiveness, we receive power to do His work.

We will never measure up to Gods standards of holiness! I know we have known this but wow- we actually will never measure up! When we see The Lord as Isaiah did-we will then realize our sinfulness! This is because God is holy!!

Growing up I always had wondered during worship why we kept repeating the words holy, holy, holy in multiple songs. Well, when I finally realized what the word meant-I was amazed! We should sing Holy over and over continuously to proclaim the greatness of our God!

The definition of Holy: Morally perfect, pure & set apart from ALL sin.

#amazed

Now that is a definition! To become holy like Christ is to be set apart and pure! We are cleansed through Christ of all of our iniquities! May we not hold onto the sins we have committed! May we CONFESS!

May we DISCOVER GOD'S HOLINESS!!
We will then be enabled to worship and serve him wholeheartedly!!

Now back to more of what the scriptures say in Isaiah 6. He touched my lips with it and said "see, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven." Isaiah 6:7

Man! We are forgiven! We are cleansed! Yet, it may be a painful process- we are being refined for the glory of God! He wants to use you and me! We are His children! He is calling us!

Let's accept Gods call on our lives and allow Him to speak to us! Be cleansed and confess-submit to Gods control over your life! Be purified! Only God can work in you to make you pure and holy! Let him work!!

I believe that the closer we come to God the more weakness, insecurity, and inadequacy we see in ourselves. Instead, we need to come to Jesus with everything and he will use us!

Fully commit to God and say "Here I am Lord, Send me!" Be willing to show the world Gods LOVE! Whatever it takes!!

Now back to the beginning of Isaiah chapter 6. Wow, the greatness of our God! Verse 1 states "...the train of his robe filled he temple." The Glory of God!!! Verse 2 "...mighty seraphim (angels) were with him, having 6 wings...2 covered the faces, 2 covered their feet, and 2 they flew with" SIX WINGS!! Now that image proclaims the holiness of who God is! The Glory of God!!

Now once Isaiah had realized he was a sinful man-all he wanted to do was worship and serve The Lord! Okay, but in verse 8 The Lord is asking for a messenger to the people of Israel! The Lord also said to Isaiah later in the chapter that the people have hardened their hearts, plugged their ears, shut their eyes and will not listen to truth of Gods word!

If I were Isaiah I would be discouraged. I ask myself-then what's the point if no one will listen to the message? Well that's where we need to recognize the greatness of our God! In verse 13 it states that a remnant will be planted. Few people will listen but, those are the people who will be apart of the Holy seed being planted! Only a few will remain in the land and help rebuild for the Glory of God!

God had a purpose for Isaiah and his purpose led to planting a remnant (a holy seed). This is where it is important to be obedient to what God is calling us to do.

Be apart of the REMNANT! Be a faithful follower! Be apart of Gods plan!!

Every little thing you do!! Do if for the Glory of God!! A good song to look up referring to this and proclaiming the Grace of God is - "Do Everything" by Steven Curtis Chapman

Obey God before time runs out...

Listen.
Obey.
Do.

Be Fully Committed!

I still don't know which way to go
But my eyes are on You
I still don't know which way to turn
But my ears are to the ground

I don't know or have the plan but I am looking to God and as I look upon him- he leads!

Even when I cannot feel You

It was for our sins!

Who has believed our message? To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm? My servant grew up in the Lord ’s presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in dry ground. There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance, nothing to attract us to him. He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people. He had done no wrong and had never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man’s grave. But it was the Lord ’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord ’s good plan will prosper in his hands. When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels. (Isaiah 53:1-12 NLT)

To Have Feeling

To have feeling. To have regret. To be filled with Joy. To receive the greatest gift of forgiveness. I believe. It is Jesus Christ himself who has saved me.

He is my strength. He is my everything. I live for Him alone. Every breath that I take. Every moment I'm awake. Lord- have your way with me.

What will my purpose be now? I only want to listen to your voice. I may have failed. But, I believe you picked me up. Your Will, your plan- never fails. Your love is unfailing.

I don't understand. I don't understand what I have done. I don't understand why. I do know that it is Christ who strengthens me!

Where do I go from here? I have no plan. There are ideas. But, wow! What to do!

I don't understand what I feel now. I feel peace. I feel uneasy. I feel anxious. I feel change is coming. I know change is coming.

Lord you are leading. I am TRUSTING you with everything. I live for you alone. Nothing else matters unless it is of you or for you! Lord- you amaze me. You are indescribable. May I be obedient in all that I do and may  my eyes and ears be open to your guidance.

Trust with Faith

Never once did we ever walk alone. God is faithful! May we trust him with complete faith in ALL things! God is a merciful God! May we love him with all that we are! Deuteronomy 4 & 6

I am Yours.

I am your child God.
NOTHING. Nothing will overtake.
You re my everything.
You are the ONE I need.
You are the ONE I long for.

I long to dwell in your presence.
I long to dwell in your house.
I live for you alone.

I want my life to only give you praise.
I truly want to be a living sacrifice.

You have shown me your love in abundant ways.
You have shown me your mercies.

Why do I fail in your presence?
Why am I not honoring you in everything I do?

I want to only have faith in you alone.
I want to only stand on your truth.
Nothing can overtake you God.

I want to firmly believe in ALL of you.
I want to trust you.

I know I trust you.
I know I have faith in you.
I know I believe in you.
I know you are faithful.

Why can't I be a living sacrifice?
Am I truly giving you everything?
What does that look like?

How can I know I am honoring you in all things? My mind. My body. My thoughts.

God, you are everything.
I am your child.
Nothing can separate.

You are the one I live for.
You are the one I ADORE.
You are the one who is faithful.

What do I give God?
What do I give up to experience all of you?
I want your presence God.

You are leading me.
You are guiding me.
May I experience your peace.
FOR. YOUR. GLORY.

That is all I want.
Be the center of my life.
Full my cup to overflowing.

I want to experience your abundance.
I want to experience what it looks like to trust you completely.

I want to know I truly trust you.
I want to know you are all I need.

I don't want it to be hard. I don't want it to be easy. I do want you to do whatever it takes.

I am scared. And don't know what this looks like.

You are everything.
I have faith to believe.
I want to believe with everything I have.

I want to fear only you God.

I am your child.
I believe in your truth.

Give life Wholeheartedly to God

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.

Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. (Romans 12:1, 9, 10, 18 NLT)

What does it look like to give my whole body as a sacrifice in worship to God? To give him all the glory?!

What can I do to show love to others today? To show that I truly care!

When I am obedient I will be able to listen and live by the will of God.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:2 NLT)

THEN YOU WILL LEARN TO KNOW Gods will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect!!

Seriously be obedient and pour out gods love by pressing into him!
We will feel peace with God in every situation.

May we love out Gods love with continually worship to glorify him in all that we do and may we be obedient to experience his truth and understanding in all things!

May we rest in his presence!

May we honor Gods name and proclaim it!!

The "thoughts" to live for Christ

"Put on your new nature, and be RENEWED as you learn to know your creator and become like him." Colossians 3:10

Lord I want more of you.
All of you.
Take my life and let it be all for your glory.
You are all that I need.
May I only live for you.
Fearing you alone.
You are my hearts desire.
I long to worship you.
You are my strength.
May I listen to you.
May I be obedient.
You are life. You are everything.
May your will be done!
Pure thoughts. Pure everything.
May I only represent you and be patient for your will and plan.
May my heart honor God.
What does it look like to have a heart honor God?!

GOSPEL- see the real me.
Live for God alone.

I believe you have cleansed me God.
You have my life. You are living in me and working through me.

May I trust you with faith and peace and give you glory through representing your life in Love to all!

"Grow and experience the Joy of your Faith." Philippians 1:25
